Suspected Lakurawa terrorists struck Bachaka, a border town in Argungu LGA of Kebbi State, killing two Nigeria Customs Service officers and one local resident.

The Kebbi State Police Command confirmed the incident. According to spokesman SP Nafiu Abubakar, the attack occurred on Tuesday. He said the identities of the deceased officers were still being verified at the time of the report.

“Yes, there was an attack, and it led to the death of two yet-to-be-identified Customs officers and one resident of Bachaka village,” Abubakar said.

Kebbi’s Commissioner of Police, Sani Bello, visited the area after the incident. He reassured residents that security forces would not back down and noted that such attacks showed the group was under pressure from ongoing operations.

The assault happened less than a day after security forces said they had neutralized two Lakurawa members in the same state.
