President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Abuja for London, United Kingdom, on a three-week vacation.

The President left the country on Sunday afternoon, August 30, 2026. He was seen off at the airport by senior government officials, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.
In a statement, the Presidential Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said the trip is part of the President’s annual leave for the year.
Speaking on the trip, the Presidential Adviser on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, told State House Correspondent Musbau Dan-Wahab that the President would use the period for both rest and some aspects of official duties.
According to the statement, President Tinubu is expected back in Nigeria after the vacation. He will then join the campaign activities ahead of the January 2027 general elections.
