The Ogun 1 Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has seized 10,126 parcels of cannabis sativa across several locations in Ogun State. Officials placed the Duty Paid Value of the consignment at N743.4 million.

Area Comptroller Olukayode Afeni said the operation was carried out to prevent the substance from reaching consumers and causing wider health and social harm. He noted that the intercepted drugs have since been handed over to the Idiroko Special Area Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for further action.
Afeni praised the officers involved and stressed that stronger collaboration between Customs and NDLEA was key to cutting drug trafficking routes. He warned that if the shipment had entered circulation, it could have worsened drug abuse cases and put additional strain on health facilities.
