The African football governing body, CAF, has rescheduled the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2026 in Morocco to July 25 – August 16, 2026. This change aims to address logistical and organizational issues, ensuring a successful tournament.

The tournament will feature top African women’s teams competing for a spot in the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil. Four semi-finalists will secure direct qualification, while others may have another chance through playoffs.
Nigeria, the defending champions, are in Group C with Zambia, Egypt, and Malawi.
