Classrooms in Ogbomoso emptied Monday asteachers swapped chalk for placards. They marched through town streets demanding the safe return of colleagues and students taken in last Friday’s school attacks.

The protest was about more than anger. Teachers described it as “solidarity work” – a public show of support for victims still in captivity. They carried signs like “No Teacher, No Nation”, “We Need Peace”, and “Free Our Colleagues”, while chanting for government action.

Friday’s raid hit 3 schools in Oriire LGA: Baptist Nursery/Primary Yawota, Community Grammar School Ahoro-Esinle, and L.A. Primary School. An assistant headmaster was killed. Roughly 30 teachers and pupils were abducted. Since then, videos from the bush have shown victims pleading for rescue.
