OSUN GOVERNMENT DISBURSES DEATH BENEFITS TO LATE WORKERS’ FAMILIES.

Osun State has released ₦204,275,209.80 to settle death benefits owed to families of public servants who died while in active service.

According to the state government, the funds cover beneficiaries whose documentation was finalized at the Pension Office. A breakdown shows ₦125,631,083.45 was allocated to next-of-kin of state employees, while ₦78,644,126.35 went to families of local government staff.

The cheque presentation held in Osogbo today was witnessed by the Head of Service, Elder Ayanleye Aina, who represented Governor Ademola Adeleke. 

In a message delivered at the event, the Governor said attending to workers’ welfare remains central to his administration. He noted that payments under the Group Life Assurance Policy have continued since 2023, with about ₦882.7 million already disbursed to 184 beneficiaries to date.

The state also recently cleared ₦1.86 billion in outstanding personal accident insurance claims for 563 beneficiaries covering the period from September 2013 to August 2023.
