Adekunle Rufai Omoaje, the Action Alliance (AA) presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, has outlined plans to tackle Nigeria’s economic difficulties, improve security and expand employment opportunities as he begins his campaign.

Omoaje presented his proposed priorities on Saturday at the launch of his presidential campaign in Babanla Agate Ward, his home ward in Ede, Osun State. The event followed special prayers involving Islamic scholars, Christian clerics and traditional worshippers.

A statement issued in Kaduna said the gathering attracted politicians, business owners, labour representatives, artisans and traders from different parts of the country. Party officials, including the Osun State chairman, Kazeem Araoye, also attended.

Addressing supporters, Omoaje said his proposed administration would pursue policies aimed at easing economic hardship, reducing poverty and tackling corruption. He also identified youth employment as a priority, promising to create opportunities for young Nigerians to earn a living.

On security, the candidate pledged to address the challenges confronting the country and work towards ensuring that citizens could travel and go about their daily activities without fear.

He also proposed a leaner federal cabinet, with fewer ministers and political appointees. As part of his grassroots governance plan, he said Presidential Liaison Officers would be appointed across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas to improve coordination between the Federal Government and communities.

Omoaje further advocated for the reclassification of all roads in the country as federal roads, arguing that the proposal would help address inequalities in infrastructure development across different parts of Nigeria.

The AA candidate said his campaign would extend to the six geopolitical zones and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, through larger rallies designed to mobilise support ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

He urged Nigerians to support his candidacy and expressed confidence in his chances at the polls.
