The Independent National Electoral Commission has released results for by-elections held in several federal and state constituencies across Nigeria on Saturday.

Results from INEC returning officers show that the All Progressives Congress won seats in Enugu, Kebbi, Kano, Ondo and Nasarawa. The Peoples Democratic Party won the Rivers South-East Senatorial District. Labour Party and Allied Peoples Movement also fielded candidates but did not secure any of the contested seats.

For Enugu North Senatorial District, APC’s Ikeje Asogwa was declared winner with 162,360 votes. PDP’s Chief Nestor Ezeme had 9,299 votes. The poll was conducted to fill the position left vacant by Senator Okey Ezea, who passed away on November 18, 2025, at age 62.

In Kebbi State House of Assembly, Zuru Constituency, APC’s Rabiu Garba Aiki scored 4,887 votes to defeat Labour Party’s Aliyu Galadima Muhammad who got 168 votes. The seat became vacant after the death of former Speaker Muhammad Usman Zuru.

APC’s Rabiu Shuaibu won the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency in Kano with 35,356 votes. Allied Peoples Movement’s Lawal Garba-Haruna polled 268 votes while Labour Party’s Abubakar Yahaya-Muhammad had 98 votes. The election followed the death of NNPP’s Muhammad Danjuma-Hassan.

PDP’s Olaka Nwogu emerged winner in Rivers South-East Senatorial District with 47,961 votes, ahead of APC’s Osar Erewari who recorded 1,647 votes. Voters went to the polls after Senator Barry Mpigi died in February.

Ondo South Senatorial District went to APC’s Dayo Faduyile with 68,474 votes. Allied People’s Movement candidate Adeolu Akinwunmi polled 1,411 votes. The by-election was necessitated by Senator Jimoh Ibrahim’s appointment as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

In Nasarawa North Senatorial District, APC’s Danladi Envulu-anza won with 45,362 votes. Labour Party’s Labaran Maku had 12,931 votes and PDP’s Emmanuel David Ombugadu scored 11,570 votes. The election took place in Nasarawa Eggon, Akwanga and Wamba LGAs to replace Senator Godiya Akwashiki, who died after a prolonged illness.
