Popular Nigerian gospel singer, Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has reportedly passed away, sparking grief across the gospel music community.

The news was announced on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, by Barr. Pelumi Olajengbesi, Convener of the Coalition of Public Interest Lawyers and Advocates (COPA), in a post on Instagram.

Olajengbesi wrote: “My God! What a life! No, Lord! We plead for Your mercy upon Toluwanisings. I am deeply troubled by the deaths of young men and women. This is not God’s plan for us. We say no to untimely death!”

The report comes months after Toluwanisings survived a serious road accident in July 2026, involving his team and a trailer while returning from a ministration. The singer had shared photos of the wrecked vehicle at the time, thanking God for sparing his life.

Toluwanisings, who hails from Ikirun, Osun State, was known for blending contemporary and Yoruba gospel sounds, with songs like “My Plea,” “Elagbara,” and “I Have A Very Big God.” He was also a trained Estate Surveyor and Valuer and recently celebrated his 5th wedding anniversary in September.

Earlier reports claimed the singer slumped and was rushed to hospital, with colleagues like comedian Woli Agba and singer Boyebest calling for prayers and urging the public not to conclude as they trust God for a miracle.

As of the time of filing this report, the exact cause of death and family confirmation are yet to be made public.
