China says it is ready to deepen cooperation with Nigeria, Malaysia and other partners in technology, education and youth exchanges.

Speaking at a recent seminar, a Chinese envoy said bilateral ties with Nigeria are expanding across trade, technology, education, culture and sports, and described both countries as “a strong example of win-win cooperation among Global South countries”.

The envoy pledged continued support from the Chinese Embassy and Nigeria’s Ministry of Youth Development to create more exchange opportunities for young people. Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Youth Development said the country can benefit from deeper cooperation with China, especially in technology and innovation, and highlighted internship and job prospects for Nigerian youths in Chinese firms. Planned 2026 engagements include a China-Nigeria Fashion Show, Food Festival, Film Festival and a virtual reality exhibition on Tang Dynasty culture. China has also been expanding educational links through Confucius Institutes, China Corners in schools, and scholarships for Nigerian students.
