The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has brought social media personality and relationship coach Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, before the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja over an alleged ₦69.15 million fraud.

Blessing was arraigned on Tuesday by the EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 before Justice R.A. Oshodi on two charges bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and stealing.

The anti-graft agency alleges that she received and converted ₦69,150,000 belonging to another person under circumstances the Commission described as fraudulent.

When proceedings began, prosecution counsel C.C. Okezie asked the court to proceed with the arraignment, stating that the defendant had been properly served. Defence counsel Nkama Nneka, however, told the court the charge was served only recently and requested the court’s leniency.

Justice Oshodi ruled that the arraignment should continue in line with legal provisions. The charges were read to the influencer, after which she entered her plea.

The court has scheduled further hearing on a date to be fixed later.

This is a fresh charge and separate from her earlier arraignment over an alleged ₦36 million fraud, for which she was granted ₦10m bail with two sureties by a Federal High Court in Lagos.
