A major operation by security agencies in Kaduna State has led to the recovery of 245 cattle believed to have been stolen by armed rustlers, alongside the prevention of several attempted kidnappings.

The Kaduna State Police Command said the breakthrough came from coordinated patrols and intelligence-led raids targeting bandit corridors across the state. Officers intercepted the livestock while it was being moved through rural routes, cutting off a major supply line for the criminal groups.
The recovered cattle are now being held at a secure police facility. Authorities say owners will be identified and the animals returned after proper verification.
In related actions, police teams also intercepted armed groups planning abductions in different parts of the state. While the Command did not give exact figures or locations for the foiled kidnaps, it confirmed that the operations ended without civilian casualties.
A spokesperson for the Command urged residents to keep providing useful information, noting that community cooperation has been key in tracking rustling and abduction networks.
The investigation is still ongoing to trace the source of the cattle and apprehend those behind the thefts and attempted abductions.
