The Commander of the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), General Dagvin R.M. Anderson, led a high-level delegation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Sunday. The visit aimed to strengthen US-Nigeria military cooperation, focusing on counter-terrorism, maritime security, and regional stability.

The US delegation included Charge d’Affaires Keith Heffern, Senior Foreign Policy Adviser Amb. Peter Vrooman, and Command Sergeant Major Garric M. Banfield. Nigerian security chiefs present were National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Minister of Defence Gen. Christopher Musa, Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede, and others.

The meeting followed recent announcements on enhanced US-Nigeria security partnerships, including a US military team deployment to Nigeria for counter-terrorism operations.
