TINUBU TAKES SWIPE AT OPPOSITION LEADERS AHEAD OF 2027 CONTEST.

President Bola Tinubu has fired a fresh salvo at leading opposition figures as political realignments intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, the President dismissed recent moves by rival parties to form a coalition, describing their alliance talks as “a gathering of displaced politicians” with no clear ideology or plan for Nigerians.

Tinubu said his administration remains focused on economic reforms and national security, and urged citizens to judge his government by results rather than “the noise from desperate politicians seeking a comeback.” He added that those criticising his policies had their chance in office but left the country with unresolved challenges.

The President’s remarks come amid reports that key opposition leaders have begun consultations on a possible merger or electoral pact to challenge the ruling party in 2027. He warned that propaganda would not erase the “difficult but necessary” decisions his government has taken to stabilise the economy.
