Sowore faces possible return to Kuje prison after the Federal Government alleged he failed to fully meet bail conditions. The FG told a court that Sowore didn’t comply with the terms set for his release, prompting the government to ask the court to revoke his bail and remand him back in custody pending trial.

Sowore, a human rights activist and former presidential candidate, has had multiple run-ins with authorities over protests and allegations of treasonable felony and cybercrime. He was previously detained at Kuje prison before being granted bail.

According to reports, Sowore was granted bail with conditions including ₦500,000, submission of a verified National Identification Number (NIN), presentation of a three-year tax clearance certificate, and deposit of his international passport.

The court is expected to rule on the FG’s application soon.
