The African Democratic Congress has selected Rotimi Amaechi as its vice presidential candidate for the 2027 elections. Amaechi, a former Minister of Transportation, will run alongside Atiku Abubakar on the ADC ticket.

ADC representatives confirmed the decision, stating that the choice reflects the party’s preparations for the next general election cycle. The announcement was made as parties finalize candidate combinations and coalition arrangements.
Party officials said the selection was based on experience in public service and administrative capacity. They added that the ADC intends to focus its campaign on governance issues and national development priorities.
The move ends weeks of speculation about Atiku’s running mate under the ADC banner. The party stated it will share details of its policy agenda and campaign strategy at a later date.
The announcement is part of broader political realignments taking place ahead of 2027 as parties position for voter support.
