The Nigeria Police Force has kicked off its week-long National Police Day celebrations with environmental sanitation exercises across Abuja. The event, themed “Community Partnership: Building Trust,” aims to strengthen ties between law enforcement and the public.

Today’s activities include free medical outreach for vulnerable groups at Jabi Motor Park and Area 1 Shopping Complex in Garki. The week will also feature a walkathon, public sensitization campaigns on electoral offences and safe driving, and a ceremonial parade at Eagle Square, Abuja, on April 7.

Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, emphasized the importance of community partnership in effective policing. President Bola Tinubu has promised to improve police welfare, equipment, and technology.
