PETROL TANKER EXPLOSION KILLS TWO, INJURES ONE IN ANAMBRA.

A devastating petrol tanker explosion occurred in Anambra, killing two people and injuring one. The incident happened along the Ihiala axis of the Onitsha-Owerri Road, opposite the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) office, at around 9:30 a.m. The tanker, which had no registration number, collided with a car and crashed into a barricade, spilling its contents and triggering a massive fire.

The driver and conductor of the tanker were killed instantly, while a motorcycle rider who was behind the tanker sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital. The FRSC rescue team and fire service personnel quickly responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.

According to Margaret Onabe, Sector Public Education Officer of the FRSC in Anambra State, the probable cause of the crash was speed and loss of control. She advised motorists to drive within recommended speed limits and remain observant while driving.
