The Nigeria Customs Service, Ogun I Area Command in Idiroko, has seized a luxury commercial bus transporting military camouflage uniforms and substances believed to be Cannabis Indica, with the entire interception valued at about ₦259 million.

Acting Area Controller Oladapo Afeni disclosed that the unregistered bus was stopped around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday along the Sagamu–Ore–Benin Expressway. Intelligence-led surveillance led operatives to flag the vehicle after it had reportedly bypassed several security checkpoints from Lagos while heading toward the eastern part of the country. Officers became suspicious of inconsistencies in the cargo declaration and ordered a full search.
During the inspection, Customs officials uncovered 197 camouflage trousers and shorts hidden inside unmarked cartons, five complete two-piece camouflage uniforms, and 32 pieces of mixed camouflage innerwear and tops. They also recovered 154 parcels of Cannabis Indica, commonly known as Canadian Loud, and seven parcels of Colorado, along with other uncustomed goods that are still being examined.
Afeni said the uniforms were meant for unauthorized persons and could be used for impersonation or other crimes that endanger public safety. He described the concealment of military gear and narcotics inside a passenger vehicle as deeply troubling and a sign of increasingly sophisticated smuggling methods. Two suspects were arrested at the scene and will be investigated further to identify other members of the network. The recovered drugs have been transferred to the NDLEA for prosecution.
