NYANYA BRIDGE CRASH: NEMA LEADS RESCUE OPERATION, NO LIVES LOST.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) coordinated a swift search and rescue operation following a road crash at Nyanya Bridge, Aya Expressway, Abuja, on March 18, 2026. The crash involved a cement-loaded truck and a commuter bus. NEMA activated the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other emergency stakeholders, and the Emergency Response and Ambulance Bay (ERAB) team from Aya was deployed to the scene.

Responders evacuated victims with injuries and transported them to nearby hospitals. Agencies involved included the Federal Fire Service, FCT Fire Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the military, and the Nigeria Police Force. The road was reopened to traffic after clearing the wreckage.
