Nigerian actress Wunmi Mosaku and the Nigerian-produced film ‘My Father’s Shadow’ took home top honors at the 2026 BAFTA Film Awards in London, according to reports from Nigerian Entertainment Today and BellaNaija. Mosaku won Best Supporting Actress for her role in ‘Sinners’, adding to her previous BAFTA win in 2017 for ‘Damilola, Our Loved Boy’.

‘My Father’s Shadow’, directed by Nigerian brothers Akinola Davies Jr. and Wale Davies, won Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director, or Producer. The film, set in Lagos during the 1993 election crisis, follows a father and his two sons navigating the city amid political unrest. It previously gained international acclaim at the Cannes Film Festival.

Other notable winners include ‘One Battle After Another’, which secured six awards, including Best Film and Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson.
