The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Edo State Command has seized 125 bags of dried cannabis weighing 1,378kg and arrested a 37-year-old suspect, Roland Owie, in a raid on a warehouse in Igbanke community, Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State.

The Edo State Commander of the NDLEA, Mitchell Ofoyeju, stated that the operation is a significant victory in the fight against substance abuse and illicit drug trade. He emphasized that the seizure will disrupt the distribution network of harmful substances and prevent them from reaching schools and communities.

Ofoyeju commended his officers for their professionalism and urged the public to support the agency in providing useful information to combat drug trafficking. The command has seized illicit drugs worth N1.8bn in the first three months of the year, with 18,380kg of drugs recovered from 104 suspected traffickers.
