A violent communal clash in Nasarawa State’s Akyawa and Udege Kasa communities has resulted in 11 deaths and over 50 houses burned. The attack, believed to be a reprisal over the killing of two individuals, occurred on Friday, April 3, 2026.

Nasarawa State Police Command has launched a manhunt for the perpetrators and deployed tactical teams to restore peace. Police Commissioner Shetima Mohammed visited the affected communities, expressing deep sorrow and assuring justice.
The clash has sparked concerns over security in the region, with authorities working to prevent further violence. The police are collaborating with the military and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps to stabilize the area.
