The late Nigerian banking mogul, formerly CEO of Access Holdings Plc, was linked to 106 luxury properties in London through offshore entities, placing him among top foreign real estate investors. The investigation by The Londoner revealed that Wigwe’s holdings were traced through shell companies and offshore arrangements in jurisdictions like Jersey, Guernsey, and the British Virgin Islands.

The report, titled “Revealed: The billionaires who really own London,” examined over 32,000 properties held by overseas entities and found that Wigwe’s portfolio placed him alongside other prominent international investors, including John Corless, Sarah Bard, and Simon Reuben.
Wigwe’s legacy as a banking titan and his international investment footprint have sparked interest and scrutiny, especially given the ongoing legal disputes over his estate.
