The Federal Government has announced a six-week partial closure of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to repair expansion joints at Kara Bridge, Magboro Bridge, and Arepo-Punch Bridge. The repairs aim to address safety risks and reduce crashes caused by deteriorated expansion joints.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) estimates the repairs will take up to two months to complete, with work on two expansion joints at a time to minimize inconvenience. The Lagos State Sector Commander of FRSC, Ganiyu Hamzat, warns motorists to expect delays but assures measures are in place for smoother traffic flow.
