The Kano State Fire Service has rescued residents who fell into open wells in different parts of the state.

In one incident reported in Gurungawa, Kumbotso LGA, a 23-year-old woman was pulled out alive after falling into a well in the early hours of Tuesday. The emergency call came in around 12:25 a.m. and the Fire Service’s Emergency Response Unit was dispatched from headquarters to the scene.
On arrival, responders found the woman in the well and carried out the rescue operation. She was later reunited with her father, Abdullahi Sani.
The service said investigations are ongoing to determine how the incidents occurred. Officials also urged residents to cover wells and be cautious around hazardous areas to prevent similar cases.
