JOINT TASK FORCE NABS 27 SUSPECTED DRUG DEALERS IN JOS RAIDS.

A combined team of military personnel and local vigilantes has arrested 27 people suspected of drug peddling during raids on known drug hubs in Jos North LGA, Plateau State.

According to security sources, the operation was carried out at about 5:30 p.m. on July 12, 2026 in Yanshanu, Dutse Uku, and Farin Gada Tomato Market areas. The areas were targeted based on intelligence about ongoing illegal drug trade.

During the sweep, the joint team of Sector 1, Operation Enduring Peace and vigilante groups apprehended 27 suspects. 

Quantities of substances believed to be *cannabis sativa* and other banned drugs were also seized from the locations.

The suspects have been profiled and are currently undergoing processing ahead of further investigation and prosecution.

Authorities said the raids are part of ongoing efforts under Operation Enduring Peace to break up drug distribution rings, cut off the supply of illicit substances, and reduce drug-related crimes across Plateau State.
