Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho, says a woman and her son abducted in Igbope, Oorelope LGA of Oyo State have been rescued in Kwara State.

Igboho, founder of Iru Ekun Security Network, disclosed that the victims, Adijat Kubura Aliqlas and Abdulmalik, were freed in the early hours of Saturday following a confrontation with their captors.
In a statement, Igboho explained that the rescue followed three days of tracking. Working alongside ASP Amos Ajegoke, operatives of the Nigeria Police Force Intelligence Response Team and other security personnel, they used intelligence and a ransom bait to pin down the kidnappers’ hideout.

He said the team traced the suspects to Bode Sadu, near Jebba, on July 2 and kept watch until the abductors showed up to collect ransom around midnight on Saturday. “We attacked them in the forest and there was an exchange of gunshots. We gave them a hot chase and combed the area. They fled and abandoned the victims,” he stated. The team later heard the victims calling for help and rescued them. Both are now receiving treatment at Igboho General Hospital.
Igboho noted that the kidnappers escaped with injuries. He thanked the Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu, for coordinating with the CPs in Kwara and Niger states, which he said made the operation successful.
He reaffirmed his commitment to securing Oke-Ogun and Oyo State, and urged citizens to support genuine security efforts and avoid spreading unverified reports that could cause panic.
