FIRE-RAVAGED LAGOS AIRPORT OLD TERMINAL TO BE DEMOLISHED – KEYAMO.

The old terminal of Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, ravaged by fire on Monday, will be demolished, according to Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo. The fire, which was contained without any loss of life, had damaged the terminal, which was already slated for refurbishment. A temporary terminal is being set up to accommodate affected airlines.

Keyamo, who inspected the damage, stated that victims hospitalized are responding to treatment, and efforts are underway to clear the rubble and start reconstruction. The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) equipment and offices were also destroyed in the fire.
