The Fanti Carnival is currently underway at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Afro-Brazilian returnee communities. The event promises to be a spectacular display of colourful costumes, energetic parades, and traditional performances.

The carnival features various communities, including Lafiaji, Isale-Eko, Olowogbowo, and Campos, making it a truly multicultural celebration. Attendees can expect breathtaking Afro-Brazilian performances, vibrant costumes, and cultural displays.

The event is themed “A Homecoming of Heritage,” highlighting the historical ties between Lagos and Brazil. With thousands of people in attendance, the carnival is expected to be one of the largest cultural gatherings in Lagos this year.
