The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has scheduled Saturday, June 13, 2026, for a mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination to accommodate candidates who could not sit the main test due to technical and biometric challenges. The announcement was made on Monday through a statement signed by the Board’s Public Communications Adviser, Fabian Benjamin.

According to JAMB, the mop-up is strictly for candidates who were duly registered and biometrically verified but were unable to take the exam because of disruptions at their centres. The affected group also includes candidates whose results were withdrawn over alleged examination infractions and those who presented themselves at the venue but could not be verified biometrically. The Board described the exercise as the final stage of the 2026 UTME cycle, intended to resolve all outstanding cases from the main examination period.

The 2026 UTME was conducted nationwide between April 23 and April 29. JAMB noted that while the exercise largely went on as planned, some Computer-Based Test centres experienced technical failures that prevented a number of candidates from writing the exam. The Board said the mop-up will ensure no eligible candidate is denied the opportunity to complete the process due to circumstances beyond their control.

JAMB stressed that this will be the last chance for affected candidates to participate in the 2026 UTME. Candidates involved have been advised to begin printing their Examination Notification Slips from Saturday, June 6, 2026, to confirm their centre and time. The Board also cautioned candidates to disregard individuals or groups claiming they can “upgrade” scores or secure special arrangements, noting that all processes will be handled officially through its portal.
