The funds will go toward critical areas such as food, medical care, housing, and protection services for communities affected by armed conflict, displacement, and climate impacts. Nigeria is listed as a key beneficiary because of ongoing security issues, flood damage, and high malnutrition rates.

According to EU representatives, the support will be delivered through UN agencies and international humanitarian organizations already active in the affected areas. This allocation is part of the EU’s 2026 global relief budget designed to respond to growing humanitarian needs.

Details of country-specific amounts will be published later by the European Commission’s humanitarian office.
