The All Progressives Congress, APC, has expressed readiness to receive and absorb more than 10,000 defectors from other political parties into its fold.

The assurance was given by Jibrin Bancir, Personal Private Secretary to the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, during a meeting with leaders of the Maji Johnson Bello Movement at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

Bancir said the mass movement into the APC reflects growing public confidence in the party and the policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

He promised that the new entrants would be smoothly integrated into the party structure starting from the ward level, adding that their strength in grassroots mobilisation would be fully utilised.

Earlier, the Leader of the Maji Johnson Bello Movement, Maji Johnson Bello, said the decision to defect was informed by the Movement’s review of the economic reforms being carried out by the Tinubu government.

Bello stated that the group would leverage its grassroots network to bring more Nigerians into the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
