The Department of State Services, DSS, has rescued the remaining four students of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda, who were kidnapped by bandits in Zamfara State.

The DSS said in a statement that the students were freed during a coordinated intelligence-led operation carried out without the payment of ransom.

According to the service, one suspected kidnapper was arrested during the operation, while others were neutralised.

The four students are part of six students abducted from their off-campus hostel in Kaura Namoda on June 3. Two of the students had earlier regained their freedom, while sustained security operations led to the rescue of the remaining four.

The DSS said the latest rescue comes days after it also secured the release of a professor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

The service added that the operation reinforces its sustained offensive against kidnapping and its commitment to protecting lives and improving public safety across the country.
