Residents of Jos, Plateau State, are living in fear following a wave of violence that erupted after the government relaxed a 48-hour curfew. The curfew, imposed after a deadly attack in Angwan Rukuba that claimed at least 28 lives, was eased to allow movement between 7am and 3pm daily.

However, the move has been followed by renewed attacks on motorists and passersby, with a young man killed near the University of Jos Permanent Site and several vehicles damaged. The University of Jos Alumni Association has expressed concern over the situation, calling for increased security measures on campuses and major routes.
The Plateau State Government has appealed for calm, assuring residents that security forces are working to restore order. The situation remains tense, with residents anxious about their safety.
