The armed group that kidnapped pupils and teachers from three schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State has made contact with the state government.

The victims were taken from schools in Esinele, Yamota and Alawusa towns by suspected terrorists. Authorities have not released an official figure for the number of people abducted.
Communication has now been established between the abductors and Oyo State officials. The specific demands of the group and the government’s position have not been made public.
