The Ogun State Police Command has arraigned three persons before the court over the killing of a retired broadcaster with Ogun State Television, Mrs. Olakitan Oyesiku, and her domestic guard, Pelumi Adetayo.

The disclosure was made on Thursday by the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, during a press briefing at the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.

CP Ojajuni said the command received a distress report at the Owode-Egba Division at about 4:00pm on June 21, 2026, about strange happenings at the residence of the deceased broadcaster in Owode-Egba.
On getting to the scene, operatives observed that the main entrance door had been forced open while the security house was locked from outside.
Inside, they found the body of Adetayo, 38, in the security post, and Mrs. Oyesiku’s corpse in a pool of blood in the living room of the main house.
A Lexus RX 330 belonging to the late broadcaster was also missing from the compound. Police later tracked and recovered the vehicle on June 22.
According to the CP, the breakthrough came through intelligence gathering, forensic examination and technical tracking.
A handwritten note recovered at the crime scene provided vital leads that led detectives to the suspects.
The principal suspect, Sodeinde Olajuwon Philip, 22, was picked up on June 24 at a construction site in Ibara GRA, Abeokuta, where he was working as a labourer.
Two others arrested alongside him are Sakirudeen Abdulraheem Ayoola, 27, and Sobu Obafunsho, 36.
During questioning, Philip allegedly admitted involvement in the attack. Police said he told investigators he acted to “teach her a lesson” over grievances bordering on poor remuneration while he served as a security guard in her home.
Authorities noted that Philip was posted to the deceased by a private security firm, and may have been underpaid.
Other items recovered include a broken hammer, cutlass, wooden plank and other tools suspected to have been used in the crime.
CP Ojajuni confirmed that the three suspects have been charged to court. He added that the command is working to strengthen its case file for diligent prosecution.
The Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists has applauded the police for the prompt arrest, describing it as justice for one of their own.
