Thirteen journalists from various media organizations were injured in a road accident while covering the commissioning of projects by the North East Development Commission (NEDC) in Bauchi State. The accident occurred on Friday along the Yashi-Yelwan Duguri Road in Alkaleri Local Government Area, shortly after the delegation commissioned a Government Secondary School project in Yelwan Duguri.

The injured journalists are from Channels Television, NAN, AIT, NTA, Arise, and other media houses. They sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to Yelwan Duguri Hospital for emergency treatment before being transferred to ATBU Teaching Hospital for further medical attention.

The NEDC has expressed condolences to the affected journalists and their families, and has pledged to provide full support and care for the victims. The commission’s governing board has approved the provision of medical care and support for the injured journalists and their families.
