Security forces operating under Operation FANSAN YAMMA have freed 13 persons abducted by armed groups in two separate raids across Zamfara State.

According to the Joint Task Force North West, troops acting on intelligence intercepted armed men on motorcycles headed for Tungan Kudaduku in Anka LGA. The team from Sector 2, Bagega, tracked and confronted the group, forcing them to scatter. During a sweep of the area, soldiers uncovered a temporary camp where 5 civilians were being held. All were rescued without injuries.

In a second operation in Ungwan Rogo, Kaura Namoda LGA, troops engaged suspected terrorists following a tip-off. The gunmen fled under pressure, leaving behind 8 captives and 2 vehicles which were recovered by the military.
Authorities said all 13 victims have been released to relevant agencies for support and medical evaluation.
The JTF assured that patrols and surveillance will be sustained in Anka and Kaura Namoda to frustrate further attacks and restrict movement of criminal groups in the North West.
