Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have carried out a large-scale clearance operation across suspected terrorist hideouts in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State, following a recent Boko Haram/ISWAP attack on Miringa community.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was launched in the early hours of July 10, 2026 by personnel of the 135 Special Forces Battalion in response to the insurgent incursion.

The forces were divided into four combat teams of about 40 soldiers each. They operated alongside 25 local hunters from Buratai and Kurnari communities, combining military firepower with local terrain knowledge.

The joint team, supported by 1 EQ-series tactical vehicle, 3 gun trucks and 15 motorcycles, advanced into Mangari, Bulazarma and Dora axis — areas believed to be movement corridors and temporary staging grounds for terrorists fleeing the Miringa attack.

According to the sources, the troops conducted extensive cordon-and-search operations to locate fleeing insurgents and recover hidden arms, ammunition, and other terrorist logistics.

Although no direct contact was made with the terrorists, troops identified and destroyed several makeshift shelters believed to have been used by Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters as temporary hideouts and assembly points.

The operation is part of ongoing efforts by Operation HADIN KAI to deny insurgents safe havens and disrupt their movement routes in southern Borno.
