President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has secured the All Progressives Congress presidential ticket for the 2027 general elections after winning the party’s primary with 10,999,162 votes.

The results were announced on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja, following direct primaries held on Saturday, May 23 across 8,809 wards in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Tinubu’s sole challenger, Stanley Osifo, received 16,504 votes.
Chairman of the APC Presidential Primary Election Committee, Pius Anyim, said 12,643,306 members were registered for the exercise, with 11,069,756 accredited and 11,015,665 votes cast.
State-by-state figures showed strong support for Tinubu in several regions. He recorded 814,988 votes in Lagos, his highest tally from a single state, 644,149 in Adamawa, 618,914 in Kaduna, 582,960 in Imo, and 500,852 in Kano.
In his acceptance remarks, Tinubu thanked party members for the nomination and called for unity ahead of the general elections. He said the government had made progress and urged Nigerians not to allow “politicians without clear alternative vision” to reverse gains made. He pledged to run an inclusive government focused on security, unity, and prosperity.
Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma described the outcome as evidence that the APC is prepared to contest the 2027 election, noting the party’s growing membership and structure.
