The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, has announced a planned maintenance exercise at its Katampe 330/132kV Transmission Substation in the Federal Capital Territory.

According to a statement obtained by The Whistler, the maintenance is scheduled for Saturday, February 21, 2026, and will run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

TCN said the work is part of efforts to improve service reliability and optimize performance of critical infrastructure at the Katampe facility. The substation plays a key role in electricity distribution within the FCT and neighboring areas.

During the exercise, electricity supply will be interrupted in parts of Mpape, Bwari, Jere, Jiwa, Jahi, Karimo, Idu, and Suleja, including other adjoining communities.

The company appealed to affected residents for patience and understanding while the maintenance lasts.

“We sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding during this necessary activity,” the statement read.

TCN had earlier announced a similar maintenance for election day but later rescheduled it due to the ongoing FCT elections. A new date was to be communicated later.
