The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has returned to Nigeria after a short break of the United States and Canada.

According to his campaign organization, Sowore left Nigeria about two weeks ago to reunite with his family in the US after spending time in Nigeria.
In North American tour, he met with Nigerians in the diaspora, supporters and activists, and participated in a solidarity march for Palestine in New York.
He also continued his advocacy for diaspora voting, saying an AAC administration would work to implement it if elected in 2027.
Sowore arrived through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, before heading to Abuja, where he is still facing a cybercrime case filed by the DSS in 2025, which the Service recently said it would pause to allow him campaign.
His campaign team said his return signals the start of a more intensive phase of nationwide engagements with workers, students, youths, women and other groups.
