Operatives of the Special Tactical Squad, STS, of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested 5 suspects over an armed robbery attack on a mobile phone and accessories dealer in Ogun State.

The arrest followed a petition sent to the Inspector-General of Police by Sanniphil Company over the violent robbery of its consignment.
According to the police, on 5th August 2026 at about 7:00pm, the suspects attacked a company vehicle conveying phones and accessories from Lagos to Onitsha.
Items worth about ₦100,000,000.00 were stolen during the attack.
The STS began a discreet investigation on 10th August 2026 and later arrested the suspects in Ogun State.
Suspects Arrested:
1. Okori Joyus – 23 years
2. Yetunde Lasisi – 53 years
3. Usen Samuel – 20 years
4. Usen Wisdom – 25 years
5. Quadri Oluwadare – 56 years
Police recovered 81 brand-new smartphones and 196 chargers from the suspects.
The Force said efforts are ongoing to track down other fleeing gang members and recover the rest of the stolen goods.
The Nigeria Police Force reassured Nigerians and business owners of its commitment to protecting lives and property and combating violent crime nationwide.
