Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde says students and teachers kidnapped from a school in the state are being kept inside Old Oyo National Park.

According to the governor, the victims have now spent 27 days in captivity. He disclosed that security agencies are tracking the location and working to secure their safe release without endangering lives.
Makinde added that intelligence suggests the kidnappers chose the forest reserve due to its dense terrain, which makes rescue operations more difficult. Authorities have increased surveillance and patrols around the park and nearby communities.
Families of the abducted persons have appealed for urgent government action, saying the prolonged captivity is causing severe distress.
Kidnappings targeting schools and travelers have remained a major security concern in parts of Oyo and neighboring states this year.
