Veteran actor and former Labour Party spokesperson Kenneth Okonkwo has released purported WhatsApp conversations while doubling down on accusations of bribery involving former Anambra governor Peter Obi and the Nigeria Democratic Congress.

Veteran actor and former Labour Party spokesperson Kenneth Okonkwo.

Okonkwo, who resigned from the Labour Party in February 2025 and later joined ADC before its NDC rebrand, said the chat screenshots support his allegation that Obi engaged in financial inducements during internal party negotiations.

According to him, the messages show discussions around money and influence as Obi moved between parties. He insists the chats prove his earlier claims that Obi avoids competitive primaries and manipulates party structures to his advantage.

Obi’s camp has not issued a formal response to the latest release at press time. The two former allies have been trading accusations since Okonkwo left LP, with the actor branding Obi a “mobile squatter” for switching parties repeatedly.

Okonkwo maintains his commitment is to transparency and that the public deserves to see the evidence he claims backs his allegations.
