The National Examinations Council has announced plans to recruit over 22,000 supervisors for the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal, while warning applicants against fraudulent websites.

According to NECO’s Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, fraudsters are running fake online portals that ask teachers to pay money and upload academic credentials before being considered for appointment.

“NECO wishes to inform the public that the Council does not request any payment from teachers applying to serve as examination supervisors,” Sani stated.

The Council said it has moved from manual recruitment to a fully digital system in line with reforms by the Ministerial Committee on Improving Exam Quality in Nigeria. The new portal is designed to block fraud, reduce malpractice, and make selection fairer.

Eligible applicants are pensionable teachers on Grade Level 12 and above, aged 30 years and above. NECO directed all interested persons to apply only through its official portal: https://supervisor.neco.gov.ng. The Council stressed that the process is automated and requires no third party.

The 2026 SSCE Internal is scheduled to begin June 15, 2026.
