KOGI STATE GOVERNMENT ORDERS TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF MARKETS, MOTOR PARKS.

The Kogi State Government has announced the temporary shutdown of markets and motor parks in selected communities across seven local government areas in Kogi West Senatorial District. This measure is part of intensified security operations aimed at flushing out terrorists, bandits, and other criminal elements, in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and security agencies.

The affected areas include Lokoja, Kabba-Bunu, Yagba West, Yagba East, Kogi, Mopamuro, and Ijumu Local Government Areas. According to Commissioner Kingsley Fanwo, the shutdown is designed to disrupt criminal logistics and deny insurgents and their collaborators access to food, fuel, and other essential supplies.

The specific locations affected in each LGA include Oshokoshoko, Jakura, and others in Lokoja; Ike Bunu, Aba Marian, and others in Kabba-Bunu; Okoloke, Isanlu Esa, and others in Yagba West; Irunda Ile, Iyeh Ilotin, and others in Yagba East; Adingere, Koton Karfe, and others in Kogi; Otafun Amuro, Oroke Amuro, and others in Mopamuro; and Ayegunle Gbedde, Iyah Gbedde, and others in Ijumu.
