Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has submitted his nomination form to the All Progressives Congress as he seeks a second term in the 2027 governorship election.

The form was submitted on Monday at the Sheraton Abuja Hotel. APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, received it on behalf of the party. Argungu praised the governor’s record on infrastructure and human development in Kebbi State, stating that the party is confident in his ability to secure victory in 2027.
Representing the governor at the submission, Deputy Governor Abubakar Umar-Tafida thanked the APC leadership for its support. He said the administration remains focused on consolidating its achievements and urged Kebbi residents to continue backing the government for more dividends of democracy.
Governor Idris was accompanied by top party stakeholders and officials, including Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Abubakar Bagudu, former lawmakers Adamu Aliero and Yahaya Abdullahi, among others.
The governor’s nomination form, priced at N50 million, was earlier procured in Abuja by the Kebbi State Commissioners’ Forum. Chairman of the forum and Commissioner for Finance, Abubakar Chika, alongside Commissioner for Special Duties, Zayyanu Aleiro, obtained the form on behalf of forum members. The commissioners had resolved last year to purchase the form after passing a vote of confidence in the governor.
The APC began the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms on Tuesday, marking the start of its nomination process for aspirants nationwide.
