A tragic incident occurred in Katsina State on Friday, claiming the life of CSP Muhammad Kabir, the Divisional Police Officer of Rimi local government area. He was killed while leading a joint operation against cattle rustlers, leaving behind a legacy of bravery and service. Three of the rustlers were neutralised during the joint operation involving security operatives and community members, according to the Katsina State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs.

The state government confirmed that the DPO was killed after his rifle malfunctioned during a gun battle with the suspects. Several stolen animals were recovered, and three security personnel were injured in the operation. The ministry has praised the bravery of security personnel and community members involved in the operation and reaffirmed Governor Dikko Umaru Radda’s commitment to ensuring the state is safe for residents.
